Nylon provides powder coatings, which are tough; have excellent abrasion, wear, and impact resistance; and a low coefficient of friction. These powders also produce coatings that have good chemical and solvent resistance. A smooth surface finish is generally associated with nylon powder coatings. Generally, a primer must be used with nylon powder coatings to achieve the adhesion level needed for higher performance applications.
